Josh Phillip

After struggling for many years throughout my secondary school education, I left school after completing my GCSEs. I started my career as a business administration apprentice, working and learning at Tresham College of Further and Higher Education.

Upon completion of my apprenticeship, I built upon my skills and experience in a role with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). This role developed the foundation of skills I built in my apprenticeship, enabling me to take a leadership role within a project to upgrade the CMI Online Mentoring Programme for all 130,000 CMI members and deliver presentations at conferences across the UK. In my time with CMI, I gained a CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management.

In 2018, I joined Education Group as a Sales Administrator and worked as part of an intimate team delivering primary school workshops across Australia. It was at this stage, with the encouragement of my management team, that I began to consider returning to education.

In 2019, I accepted an offer from the University of Durham to study law with foundation (LLB) as a mature student. Not only was the decision to accept this offer completely life changing, but I regard it as one of the best I have ever made and have not looked back since. I aim to graduate in 2024 and ultimately aspire to become a solicitor. It is my pleasure to be able to use my experience, qualifications and skills to support the Cultural Evolution Society Transformation Fund.
